New David Wright CD "In Search of Silence" coming soon.

Work on my new space music studio album "In Search of Silence" is coming along nicely. There have been some delays in recent months due to the distraction of the forthcoming electronic music event The Bungay Bash - rehearsals and local promotional work - plus the small matter of my heart problem. I'm also working on a Sci fi book soundtrack with US writer Matt Howarth, which I hope will be released towards the end of the year. 

Back to "In Search of Silence"; this has been a fun album to do, not least because I've been rediscovering a lot of sounds from my hardware synths and relying less on the soft synths - not that there's anything wrong with the soft synths - they're still in evidence on the new album, but it is dominated by hardware synths this time round, including the Kurzweil PC3x, JP8000, JD990 and Karma Even my old 01W, 05rW and K4 had the cobwebs blown off them and used.

Musically I think this new album is a departure from recent works, I'd say that some of the music is structured in the same linear way I approached "Walking with Ghosts", but does include some improvised and drifting segments circa "Momentum".

I think it's probably fair to say that I've been less concerned about the "technical" this time during the writing and recording process and concentrated more on being spontaneous and creative. I'm pleased with the results so far and the album should be available for release end of July, beginning of August 2011. Callisto for Bungay Bash

So the Bungay Bash moves ever closer............and today we decided that we would also perform a Callisto space music set to open the evening proceedings. Seems logical as Neil and I are there and we also want to get some live film for the Callisto DVD - yes, there will finally be a Callisto DVD, and a Code Indigo DVD and a David Wright DVD. Well, assuming all goes well with the filming at The Bungay Bash that is!! Seems quite strange to be performing as three separate space music acts, although I guess you can't call Code Indigo space music, more instrumental rock I suppose. So, performing three very different styles of instrumental music, but it should be fun. David Wright and Bekki Williams collaboration

Bekki Williams and I have at last talked seriously about a space music collaboration! I'm often asked by fans why we haven't done this before, and it's only because we're both busy with other projects - not to mention "Life".

Not going to give a time frame yet, but it now looks very likely that there will be a David Wright and Bekki Williams instrumental music album at some point in the future.
